Description
Kids 12 and under participate for free!
It’s often said that coping with depression is like wearing a mask. People tend to put on a brave face so that the world doesn’t know their pain. November 3rd we challenge you to take that mask off and join us to help end the war against depression and suicide. Costume masks, however, are encouraged! 👻 🎃 😈
Please join The Suicide Rebellion: A Foundation in Memory of Garret Sinagra for our very first 'Take Your Mask Off for Depression 5K Costume Run/Walk and 1K Kids Trick-or-Treat'! If you are feeling in the Halloween spirit, dress up in your craziest costumes as singles or teams and compete for the Grand Prize! Runners will also have a chance to compete in a 22 pushup challenge in honor of the 22 veterans a day that lose their lives to suicide.
Proceeds will benefit The Suicide Rebellion: A Foundation in Memory of Garret Sinagra and the research of Dr. Lisa Pan and her colleagues at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Pan is a psychiatrist whose research specializes in identifying biological markers for treatment-resistant depression and suicidal tendencies in adolescents. She and her team have been working tirelessly over the past few years with the goal of treating and restoring quality of life to those who suffer from this debilitating illness.
