Dave LaPorte Memorial Fund

This community-driven race is designed to raise funds for scholarships, research, and innovative programs at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences. All donations will go directly to the Dave LaPorte Memorial Fund. 

The students in our PsyD program 
work in IUP’s Center for Applied Psychology and in mental health facilities throughout Indiana and 
neighboring counties. These students provide thousands of hours of mental health services to hundreds 
of local community members each year. The goal for this year’s event is to fully endow the Dave LaPorte 
Memorial Fund, created in honor of a beloved faculty member in the IUP Psychology Department who 
was respected for his innovative work bringing mental health resources to rural communities. The fund 
will be used to support our PsyD students as they complete their doctorate and prepare for a career in 
mental health service. All donations will go directly to the Dave LaPorte Memorial Fund.
