Dual School 5K

The student athletes at Selinsgrove Area and Mifflinburg Area School District are teaming up to fundraise for their cross country teams. Both teams work very hard in the months of preparation and training before the season. The coaches of both teams want to support their runners with meet day Gatorade and snacks, pre-meet team dinners, post-meet celebrations, mid-season recognitions, and the end of season banquet. These extra costs are not covered by the school districts; the booster clubs must provide the money needed for these team-building opportunities. The net proceeds from this race will go to both schools’ booster clubs to directly support the runners in the 2024 season. 

The Dual School 5K race is a great opportunity to bring the running community together in the Selinsgrove area. All walkers, joggers, and runners are welcome to support the cause and join in the fun. Registration is $25 online and on race day from 7:15 to 8:15 am on August 17th. All participants will receive a pair of running socks following check in/registration on race day morning. The 5K will be measured and timed by Race Directors Ali Huber and Jeff Kiss. The race will start at 8:30 sharp. The course follows the path at East Snyder Park and loops in the grass around the corn field. It is a fast, spectator-friendly course. The park has plenty of parking and playgrounds for entire families to come and enjoy the morning. Team and individual awards will be given to winners following the race. Water and food will also be provided. In addition to the 5K, there will also be a free kids fun run at 8:15 for all children under 10 years old. We hope to provide a fun and challenging experience for runners of all ages in the community.
