WVS 2 Mile Race and 1 Mile Walk

A scholarship in remembrance of Vince Wojnar has been established to honor a college or trade school bound senior student who is graduating from a high school encompassing PIAA District 2. Vince was the co-founder of the Wyoming Valley Striders in 1975 and passed away last year. He was a staple in the running community. Vince volunteered half of his life to the WVS serving in various positions on the board from 1975-2018 and was race director for Strider races up until his retirement in 2015.
 
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must have competed in and finished at the varsity level in both cross country and in an individual event in track and field at the PIAA District 2 meet during their senior year. 
 
All donations received on this site go directly toward the Vince Wojnar Memorial Scholarship.
