The 2nd Annual Live Like Leah 5k is a race to honor the life of an amazing woman, Leah Joy Bowers, who was a beloved teacher, coach, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and dog mom! Leah passed away in January, 2022 due to complications from cancer. All proceeds from the race will be donated to the Capernaum Camp, a branch of the Young Life Ministry for individuals with special needs. This camp experience takes Capernaum/Fun Life friends with their leaders and buddies to the beautiful YL Lost Canyon in Williams, AZ where the kids get to participate in various activities from ziplining, to ropes courses and water slides while being challenged to discover greater abilities as they experience new opportunities! They will get the chance to build sweet, genuine, and unconditional friendships with caring adults and peers, creating a deep sense of belonging. They will grow in hope, faith, encouragement, and self-esteem, all while learning about and furthering their relationship with Jesus. Leah volunteered numerous times at this camp while in college at West Chester University and the individuals involved with this camp were very close to Leah's heart!
