Brayden Blackwell, age 10, was born at 27 weeks and only weighted 2.5 lbs. He spent 3 mths in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder called Ring 18. Not a lot of information was available to us and the majority of the doctors never heard of Ring 18. Upon researching this disorder, we learned of the Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society. We became members to learn more, connect with other families, and give information in return to help others.
Brayden's Benefit 5k, in conjunction with the North Of 80's Music Festival, is to raise money and awareness on the Chromosome 18 Disorder and donate the proceeds to the Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society in Brayden's name.
