Walk4PICS 5k Run

Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS) refers to the physical, cognitive and emotional challenges that ICU survivors and their families often face long-term after critical illness. Around 80% of the 5 million people admitted to an ICU each year in the United States survive, and of those survivors, at least one-third are afflicted with PICS. PICS can impact survivors’ entire lives, including their employment, relationships, and families, in addition to their physical and mental health.
Your donation will help us raise awareness of PICS and support the journey of recovery for ICU survivors and their families. The Walk 4 PICS team at the Critical Illness, Brain Dysfunction, and Survivorship (CIBS) Center at Vanderbilt Health supports ICU survivors and their families through support groups, advocacy and awareness efforts, research on ICU delirium, collaboration with medical providers, and serving patients in the ICU Recovery Center at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
