ABOUT THE RUN
The 27th Annual Long Run starts and finishes at J.L. Long Middle School located at 6116 Reiger Avenue in Historic East Dallas. After the races, join runners, student groups, parents, families and community members for food, refreshments, and entertainment at one of the oldest and most established races in East Dallas.
This year's event will take place on Thursday, March 27th with festivities beginning at 5:30pm
The 1K Family Fun Run/Walk begins at 6:00pm and the 5K Certified Run begins at 6:30pm at JL Long and winds through picturesque Old East Dallas along the Santa Fe Trail. Each entrant will receive a race t-shirt and dinner. In addition, awards will be given for the fastest runners in the various age categories.
Early registration, before Friday, March 13th, is just $30 per runner. This includes entry fee, race t-shirt and a meal.

ABOUT THE CAUSE
The 26th Annual Long Run is the only fundraiser sponsored by the J.L. Long Middle School PTA. Proceeds are targeted to bridge critical gaps in the J.L. Long Middle School budget, including:
• Sensory items and games for the Special Education Department
• Funding needed to support Peace Pantry
• Equipment for Zoo Crew
• Funding for staff support and curriculum training
• Equipment and materials for science labs and the Athletics Department
• Supplemental books and educational materials
• Entry fees and tranportation for Long's Math & Science Team, athletic and music competitions
• Transportation for student field trips to promote a college-bound culture
• Student gardens and campus beautification
• 6th grade "Bue Camp" orientation
• Gaming equipment for Esports
