Dallas Animal Services

Dallas Animal Services (DAS) is one of the largest municipal animal shelters in the country, caring for thousands of homeless pets each year. Through adoption, fostering, volunteering, and community outreach programs, DAS works to keep pets and people together while helping more animals find loving homes. Our new “Paws at the Finish Line” outreach program focuses on connecting with the running community and promoting volunteer opportunities such as running/walking shelter dogs, fostering, and adoption.
Outdoor Disabled Veterans Program
The Outdoor Disabled Veterans Program is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the patriotism and sacrifices of our nation's wounded veterans. Our mission is to provide these brave men and women with high-quality hunting, fishing, and outdoor-related experiences that offer therapeutic benefits for both their mental and physical health.
Through our activities, we aim to raise public awareness about the positive effects that spending time outdoors can have on veterans dealing with disabilities. We believe in the power of nature to heal and inspire, offering a space where veterans can reconnect with the world around them while building lasting memories.
In addition to outdoor adventures, we provide a platform for veterans to share their stories in their own words, empowering them to speak about their experiences and struggles.
Our long-term goal is to create a therapeutic and educational retreat in Texas, designed to serve veterans and their families, providing them with the resources and support they need to heal and thrive. To date, we’ve taken veterans on dream outdoor adventures across Texas, ranging from hunting and fishing trips to camping and other outdoor activities. We are committed to working year-round to make these dreams a reality and to continue supporting those who have given so much for our country.
