The Ancient Free and Accepted Masons are a long standing and well-known fraternity that teach a system of morality veiled in allegory. This allegory primarily consists of the ancient stonemason guilds that were responsible for the construction of King Solomon’s temple. The Masons are also known for their philanthropic efforts (such as scholarships, donations for roadwork, and building cornerstones) within the communities of each independent lodge as well as larger scale projects from the Grand Lodges (various children’s hospitals, The Red Cross, Demolay Foundation).
