At Girls Who Run DFW, running is more than miles and medals it’s about heart. 💛
This year, we’re honored to give back to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a cause that is deeply personal to our family. My bonus dad a lifelong athlete who played high school, club, and college soccer went in for a routine physical one day and heard the words no one ever wants to hear: you have cancer.
He is a leukemia survivor.
Today, he’s still doing what he loves working out, walking, mountain biking, and even riding his OneWheel. He’s also still in touch with his bone marrow donor the person who quite literally gave him a second chance at life. That gift means everything to our family.
Leukemia and lymphoma diagnoses are still happening every single day to young kids, parents, athletes, friends. That’s why this mission matters so much to us.
We are setting a goal to raise $1,000, and Girls Who Run DFW will 100% MATCH every dollar raised.
If this story moves you, please join us. Run with us. Give with us. Help us give hope. 💛
Together, we can make miles matter.
