Breast Reconstruction Awareness Close the Loop 5K 2026

Donation Goal: $75,000

The Breast Reconstruction Awareness Campaign is sponsored by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and The Plastic Surgery Foundation (The PSF), and is financially supported by corporations, institutions, private practices, and individuals.

Its intent is simple: Educate, engage, and empower people to make the decision that is best for them following a diagnosis of breast cancer. That involves informing women, family members, caregivers, and the media that the breast cancer loop remains open until women are informed of all their breast reconstruction options.

Proceeds from Close the Loop support The PSF's Breast Reconstruction Awareness campaign, which includes charitable care and public awareness grants to U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Breast Reconstruction Surgery Charitable Care Grants help organizations provide breast reconstruction services and remove barriers to care such as transportation, medications, medical garments, and other patient support.  Breast Reconstruction Awareness Fund Public Awareness Grants help organizations educate patients about their breast reconstruction options following a breast cancer diagnosis.

Below are examples of the impact donations make possible based on reported charitable care costs from PSF grant recipients.
