Locally, Patriot Day 5K Houston Supports St. Baldrick's Foundation:
St. Baldrick's Foundation
We do one thing and we do it well: fund childhood cancer research. We take great care of the funds raised by our generous volunteers and supporters to direct every possible dollar to carefully selected research grants. Whether it’s through our signature head-shaving events, partnerships or advocacy initiatives, our primary focus is to have the greatest impact for kids with cancer around the world.
Nationally, Proceeds from this year's event will benefit: Voices of September 11th, The 9/12 Generation Project, the 9/11 Tribute Center, Wounded Warriors, Jeep's S.A.F.E. Return, Cancer Schmancer, and the Colon Cancer Alliance. We appreciate your contribution. Thank you!
VOICES of September 11th
Over a decade since 9/11, VOICES continues to provide a wide range of programs that promote resiliency for thousands of 9/11 families, rescue workers and survivors living in the United States and abroad, commemorates the lives lost, advocates for reforms to make our country safer and shares lessons learned to assist others responding to traumatic events.
The 9/12 Generation Project
is a ten-year national youth service-learning initiative whose mission is to inspire and educate 1.5 million middle school and high school students with the positive lessons of humanity, kindness, and citizenship of 9/12 – the day after 9/11– when the Nation came together to help heal New York and those affected by the terror attacks. The 9/12 Generation Project’s goal is to activate these students in service-learning projects focused on community revitalization, disaster relief, and the arts and empower students to have a positive impact on communities beyond their economic means and geographic limitations while bringing to life the timeless and universal core values of citizenship that transformed our Nation on 9/12.
9/11 Tribute Center
9/11 Tribute Center offers visitors to the World Trade Center site a place where they can connect with people from the September 11th community. Through walking tours, exhibits and programs, the 9/11 Tribute Center offers "Person to Person History," linking visitors who want to understand and appreciate these historic events with those who experienced them.
When you support Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), you’re supporting an organization whose broad appeal reaches across demographic, geographic, and political boundaries. We’re an apolitical organization by design. For us, it’s not about the war; it’s about the warrior.
Jeep's S.A.F.E. Return
The Jeep® brand has established the S.A.F.E. Return fund to provide both financial and in-kind aid as well as hands-on support for our returning troops through an integrated partnership with the USO. This platform allows us to give support where it is needed, throughout the transition to home, work and health.
We are fighting cancer a different way: CATCHING IT EARLY. By shifting this nation’s focus from just searching for a cure to education, prevention and early detection, we can save lives TODAY. By empowering ourselves and the women we love to become medical consumers; to listen to our bodies, ask the right questions of our doctors and seek second opinions, we can prevent cancer and, if we still end up with it, detect cancer in its earliest stages. At Cancer Schmancer, we aren’t reinventing the wheel. We are shedding light on a method that works to end mortality due to late stage diagnosis. And that’s EARLY DETECTION. Join us in saving lives.
The Colon Cancer Alliance
Our vision is for a world free of colon cancer where education, early detection and treatment lead to survivorship for all.
Our mission is to knock colon cancer out of the top three cancer killers. We are doing this by championing prevention, funding cutting-edge research and providing the highest quality patient support services.
