Did you know 3600 people drown every year in the United States? It's true. Drowning happens to little kids, but it happens to big kids, too. Drowning is the #1 cause of preventable death for kids ages 1 - 4. And it's #2 for ages 15-19. The most important thing to know is... drownings don't have to happen. They're preventable.

In 2012, 15-year-old Connor Gage was one of those statistics. Connor went to a lake birthday party -- and he didn't come home. Most people think good swimmers can't drown, but that's not true. Connor was an excellent swimmer, a lake kid, a water bug... but it just took one bad fall, and our lives changed forever. Had life vests been required, Connor would be alive today.

Since that day in 2012, our family has worked to prevent our heartbreak from repeating. That's why we founded The LV Project.
