MISSION:POSSIBLE Body Fit 5K Run & 1Mile Fun Walk (Draft)

  MISSION: POSSIBLE Body Fit 5K Run and 1Mile Fun Walk is named for our daughter, Lontoinette Christina Smith.  Christina, a mother of three young children, a bonus daughter and a goddaughter, touched the lives of many people throughout her life. Chris, a former sprinter, fell in love with cross-country running in the Fifth Grade. Over the years, she ran many marathons across the U.S. and coached others to develop the strength and stamina to run 26.2 mile marathons.  From childhood and everywhere she lived,  Chris met and established long-lasting relationships with people from China, S. Korea, India, Africa, Europe, Australia, Fiji, and right at home throughout the U.S.  

Chris demonstrated her love for God, her family and her community. By example, Christina taught her children to pray for one another, be kind to one another, build up one another, help one another, teach one another, love and respect one another. Using these guiding principles, she taught her children and others how to build positive relationships, regardless the circumstance.

To continue her work, we founded the L Christina Smith Domestic Abuse Prevention Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization, to build educational programs and tools based on these same guiding principles, as well as, collaborate with other agencies and organizations in communities across the U.S., in an effort to establish a collective movement that will transform our society. Teaching positive social skills to children in Middle School and beyond, expecting utilization of these skills, providing on-going support and accountability for adherence to these positive relationship building standards, will move our society towards eradicating domestic abuse.
