Nestled alongside the shores of beautiful Sebago Lake, Camp Sunshine provides respite, support, joy and hope to children with life-threatening illnesses and their immediate families through various stages of a child’s illness. The year-round program is free of charge to all families, and includes 24-hour onsite medical and psychosocial support. Bereavement groups are also offered for families who have lost a child to an illness.

Kevin Stargell was the heart and soul of Tropical Smoothie Café in Northern VA and a great friend to many of us. After Tropical Smoothie got involved with Camp Sunshine and Kevin came to know more about the work they were doing there he wanted to do more to help. So five years ago Kevin started this 5k run in an effort to raise more funds for Camp Sunshine. This will now be our fifth year putting on this fun event; unfortunately we are without our fearless leader Kevin. He lost his battle to CLL in January 2012 at the young age of 45. We carry on this event in his honor and hope you will join us in supporting the wonderful work of Camp Sunshine.
