Our Mission
The American Frontier Culture Foundation provides resources to the Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia for fun educational programs, entertaining lectures, hands-on workshops, and special programs. We also support much needed virtual and traditional field trips for schools and outreach programs in the classroom. School children from all over Virginia and neighboring states learn how our ancestors were drawn to the American colonies and how they contributed to the success of the colonies and what would become the United States. The Foundation also supports current and new permanent and temporary exhibits, the acquisition and reconstruction of historic buildings, the reproduction of historic buildings and furnishings, and the preservation of historic buildings and artifacts at the Museum. Families from all over the world come to the Frontier Culture Museum to this important living history museum.
The Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia operates as an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The American Frontier Culture Foundation acts as the philanthropic arm of the Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia. The American Frontier Culture Foundation, incorporated in 1982 as a tax-exempt , 501(c)3 organization, is empowered to accept all private donations for the Museum. Thank you for your generous support!
