Founded in 2013, the Jerome Alston Memorial (JAM) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports education, health & wellness, and asthma awareness. This support has been evidenced through partnerships with local schools to educate students on asthma triggers and 5k runs to support asthma awareness and raise funds for scholarships.
The Jerome Alston Memorial Foundation Scholarship Fund was established to identify high school seniors and undergraduate college students who possess qualities shared by Jerome Alston during his life. Some of these include a desire for academic excellence, leadership positions in student or community organizations, pursuit of the STEM field, tackling asthma, and membership in a fraternity.
The Jerome Alston Memorial Foundation Scholarship Fund has previously awarded scholarships to some high school students entering their first year in college. The Foundation endeavors to continue making annual scholarship awards for each of the four scholarships in the amount of at least $1,000.00 each.
