The funds raised from this event will be used to expand the memory café programming provided for the 8,500 individuals in Waukesha County living with dementia.
While the program is run by our wonderful DFE volunteers, funds are needed for supplies for the program and the occasional guest specialist.
Any surplus from the programming will be used in Public Education via the Business Training Program. DFE provides Business Training through the Waukesha County ADRC that educates the employees of area businesses in how to identify and interact with individuals living with dementia. Any business that at least 80% of their staff go through the 30-45 minute training and has a Waukesha County ADRC staff member do a walkthrough of their facility earns the accreditation of being a "Dementia Friendly Business" and can display the purple angel in their business.
