Additional donations for the Humane Society of Marathon County are greatly appreciated and help offset daily operations such as staffing for animal care 7 days a week, food, medical supplies and general facility maintenance. We believe that together, we can achieve our mission to inspire and engage the community to end animal suffering and commit to responsible pet ownership in this great county.
Note: if you select to purchase a Pet Tribute Sign which will be proudly displayed along the 5K route, additional instructions will be provided in your donation confirmation e-mail.
It's our 15th year! To help celebrate this milestone, we decided to focus this year on our beloved underdogs. We certainly see them in our shelter, and wanted to let them know how much we are rooting for them, below we are currently featuring Kate!

Kate is a survivor.
She was removed from a dog fighting operation and held in pitness protection in Michigan for over one year before getting a freedom ride all the way to HSMC. That was two years ago. What an absolute gift it is to have the opportunity to find this sweet soul a place to belong, no matter how long it takes. She may always carry the scars from the life she once knew but she will no longer know that pain. It is a literal privilege to be able to meet, love and help dogs like Kate. She is magic.
If you or someone you know loves the bully breed and is prepared to adopt a dog who keeps her circle small (no other pets), we'd love to tell you all about her.
