We would like to do some good with this, since most runs raise money for different causes. This year we are going to donate to the WV Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. They use funding for groundbreaking research, resulting in nearly every existing CF drug, and doubling life expectancy in 30 years.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. It is progressive, meaning that it gets worse over time.
There are close to 40,000 children and adults living with cystic fibrosis in the United States and an estimated 105,000 people have been diagnosed with CF across 94 countries. CF can affect people of every racial and ethnic group.
We will also have a donation jar at the race if you would prefer to donate on race day. We will also have a suggestion box for next year's donations.
