About WBOCC
WBOCC is a non-profit (EIN: 81-3740640), formed in 2016 to promote outrigger canoe paddling competition, fitness, water safety, and community engagement through the Hawaiian paddling tradition. We are a proud member of ECORA, a network of 22 outrigger canoe clubs from Canada to Florida with over 1,400 members. Now celebrating our 10th anniversary, WBOCC has grown to 130+ active paddlers competing in major races across the US. The 5th annual East Coast Championship, hosted by WBOCC, features two exciting courses: the 14-mile "Graveyard" and 9-mile "Three Island." On October 3rd and 4th, OC-6, OC-2, OC-1, and Surf Ski competitors will battle wind and waves for victory. This event attracts top paddlers from ECORA and beyond to Wrightsville Beach, where local and visiting athletes compete. Our "Just Race, No Waste" policy, in partnership with the NC Coastal Federation, ensures we protect and celebrate our beautiful waters.
