(7.6 km / 4.7 mi) - less than .05 miles per day

This is going to be, shall we say, BRISK. From Little Diomede to Big Diomede should probably be planned around any severe tides. This is probably more of a sprint come to think of it. Oh, and one more thing, better bring your passport, because Big Diomede is in Russia!

(35.4 km / 22 mi) - around 350 m or 400 yds per day

This swim is inspired by Ketchikan's Britta Adams...who actually did this thing!!! Way to go Britta...and you too!!

Event: Swim the Shoreline of Big Lake

( 107.8 km / 67 mi) - about 1100 m or 1200 yds per day

This is one of south central Alaska's biggest recreation areas, so keep your head on a swivel. You never know when you might see a jet-ski, ski-boat, or float plane. But your just as likely to get offered a cup of coffee...or an adult recreational beverage :-). Enjoy the coastline and sun! (we don't condone swimming intoxicated).

This swim takes us from Alaska's capitol, Juneau, to a town with a population of less than 500. If you come swimming up, expect to be noticed!

Event: Swim the Chena River

(161 km / 100 mi) - about 1600 m or 1760 yds per day

The Chena River runs through the heart of Fairbanks, which is known as the "Heart of Alaska". The headwaters are near the Chena Hot Springs. The river begins as a fairly swift moving body before becoming bit of a slow and meandering river by the time it flows into the Tanana.

Spend some time at the Hot Springs for a tremendous view of the Aurora Borealis. Afterwards, drive into Fairbanks for a meal at Pikes. Whetehr it is in Chena Hot Springs, Eielson, North Pole, or Fairbanks, to enjoy the Chena!

(302.9 km / 188.2 mi) - around 3050 m or 3350 yds per day

This one is getting into endurance territory. The swim might be long, but the send off from Homer, and the reception in Kodiak would be warm. Both towns are beautiful, and the waters in between sport some of the best salmon and halibut fishing in the world! This is going to be a great swim!

Event: Swim from Deadhorse to Utqiaġvik

(328 km / 204 mi) - around 3300 m or 3500 yds per day

You may want to wait for the ice to go out on this swim! This swim will take you from Deadhorse to Utqiaġvik (formerly known as Barrow). You might see some traditional whaling from our indigenous neighbors! When you get to Utqiaġvik you will have passed by Point Barrow, the highest latitude in the USA.
