Event: Summer Training - Beat The Heat

"Beat The Heat" is a 6-week structured training program:

*Run Specific Workout every Wednesday at 6:00pm

Each week, we will focus on everything from running form to how to perfect efficiency and speed through certain run drills and workouts.

*Crosstraining Workout every Saturday at 7:00am

Saturdays will be a full-body workout to effectively strengthen the run muscles and their supporting muscle groups.

When: Weekly training runs will be at 6:00pm on Wednesdays and 7:00am on Saturdays. Our first training run begins on Saturday, July 1st, 2017.

Where: The group meets from the store, local parks or coffee shops (Locations will vary from time to time and will be communicated weekly by email.)

***Participants are required to wear reflective gear for evening workouts and carry water.

Requirements: Our Summer session brings high temperatures so for your safety you will be required to carry personal hydration during all group runs. If you need help choosing the appropriate water bottle and hydration products, we'd be happy to help you at one of our store locations. In low light conditions, you will be required to have reflective gear or safety lights and/or a head lamp during group runs. We want to make sure all participants are visible to traffic. Our staff would be happy to help you with this as well.

Program Cost: Early bird registration $65.00 until June 14th, on June 15th the fee increases to $75.00, then June 25th to $85. (Please note: Race registration for the target race is NOT included in your program cost.) This program will be capped at 30 participants.

Event: Next Step - 12K Training - Battleship 12K

Our Next Level - 12K training program is designed to further runners towards their fitness and running goals beyond the 5K distance. Runners are required to be able to comfortably complete a 5K in 45:00 minutes or less (14:30 minute per mile) within one month prior to beginning this training. Program registration will include a RunMob Training shirt, an education on different training techniques and tools in order to further enjoy running and improve your performance. The registration price does not include race registration.

When: Weekly training runs will be at 6:00pm on Wednesdays and 7:00am on Saturdays. Our first training run begins on Saturday, September 2nd, 2017.

GOAL RACE: 12K Battleship on Sunday, November 12th (Race Fee not Included.)

Where: The group meets from the store, local parks or coffee shops (Locations will vary from time to time and will be communicated weekly by email.)

- Wednesday evenings you will be challenged with a combination of hill work, form drills and "speed" workouts. Designed to help you run faster and more efficiently, you will be amazed with your improved overall fitness from these challenging and fun sessions.

- Saturday mornings, we will go the distance. Saturday runs will be done at a slower, conversational pace to increase the amount of time spent on your feet and to encourage a quick recovery.

Pace groups will help you to challenge yourself while giving you a consistent group for training. Your registration information sheet and our first group practice will allow us to appropriately place you in your group. Your schedule will be tailored for your group and you will work together throughout the program to help one another reach the next level in distance and speed.

Event: Half Marathon Training - First Light

START DATE: Saturday, October 21st @ The Store at 7 am

LOCATIONS: All group workouts are outdoors at Fleet Feet Sports as well as various places throughout Mobile: (Cottage Hill Park, Municipal Park, routes from our favorite coffee shops, etc)

CLASS FORMAT: Two weekly organized and coached run workouts on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.

7:00am on Saturday mornings at varying locations in Mobile

GOAL RACE: 12K Battleship on Sunday, November 12th.

WHAT IS NEXT STEP: Perfect for those who can run between 2-3 miles but have a difficult time going further than the 5K distance. This program will train you to run the 12K distance. Great training program for aspiring half marathoners. Participants must be able to run 2 miles without stopping under or at 15 minute per mile pace.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: Before entry into the program, you must be able to run a 15:00 minute per mile pace or faster. We ask that you can run/walk 3 miles without stopping before getting started.

Event: Half Marathon Training - Rock N Roll NOLA 2018

Our Half Marathon Training Program, is designed for runners who have comfortably run or walk 5 miles within the last 60 days and are up to 4 miles in distance by the start of the program. The combination of speed and long-distance training in this program will prepare you whether you are a seasoned half marathoner or a first timer with the goal to finish!

Fleet Feet Sports Half Marathoners are broken into various pace groups based on running background as well as goals. These pace groups are designed to help you train in a safe and effective manner as you build up your base mileage. Speed workouts during the half marathon program are an opportunity to work with your pace group to push yourself and to train at your target race pace. These workouts are combined with core and upper body strengthening to ensure a complete fitness experience.

Our half marathon program is designed to challenge you, encourage you, and to help you have a healthy training experience as you build up mileage and speed in preparation for the 13.1 mile race. Get ready to cross the half marathon off your bucket list... and be prepared to have so much fun doing it that you decide to come out for the program again!

Your registration information sheet and our first group practice will allow us to appropriately place you in your group. Your schedule will be tailored for your group and you will work together throughout the program to help one another reach the next level in distance and speed. Each pace group will have an assigned volunteer coach with them on the run.

Half Marathon Training Details:

This Fall, our 12-week half marathon training session is perfect for running or racing the First Light Half Marathon (January 14.)
