10K Team Ruck

If you are participating in the Team 10K Ruck, please note the following rules for your race. You will sign a waiver at the end of registration, letting us know you agree to the following:

Team
*A team consists of 4 members. This is a team event. Members should run/walk and complete the challenges as a team. Only one race bib with timing chip will be given to the team. Teams must stay together at all times.

Ruck Weight
*Rucks, backpacks or vest must weigh over 40lbs for men and over 20lbs for women at the beginning AND end of the race. Packs will be weighed before the race and you will receive a weight check tag. Packs will be weighed after the race and you will receive another weight check tag. If the pack weighs under the required weight, you will not receive a tag for your pack and docked a time penalty on your official team time. Penalty information below.

Challenges
*There are three challenges that must be completed on each lap of the race (total of 6 challenges). The entire team must complete the challenges before moving on the course. At the end of the challenge, each team member will get a tag that must be kept as you continue the course. This shows official completion of the challenge. A carabiner will be provided to hold your tags. What successful completion of each challenge station looks like will be left up to the discretion of the event staff member over the challenge.

Penalties
*Ruck Weight Penalty - If your pack weighs under the required weight before and after the race, a 5 minute penalty will be added to your team time for EACH occurrence.

Examples:
-If you’re a male and your ruck weighs 40lbs prior to the race, but only 36lbs after the race, you will be docked 5 minutes on the team time.
-If you’re a male and your ruck weighs 36lbs prior to the race and 36lbs after the race, you will be docked 10 minutes on the team time.
-If you’re a male and your Ruck weighs 40lbs prior to the race and 40lbs after the race, no penalty will be assessed.

*Prior to the race your Ruck will be weighed and you will receive a pre-race weight check tag to keep through the race. After your race and your Ruck is weighed again, you will receive a cleared tag to keep if weight requirements are maintained.

*These weight penalties are for EACH TEAM member. If you have a team of 4 and start the race with the correct weight Ruck but finish the race and everyone is underweight, a penalty of 20 minutes would be added to the Official Team Time.

*Rucks, backpacks or vest can have a weight discrepancy of 2lbs between the pre and post race weight check.

*Challenge Penalties - If you do not complete a challenge, a 3 minute penalty will be added to your team for EACH occurrence.

Examples:
-If you complete all 6 challenges, no penalty will be assessed. All challenges must be completed by all team members.
-If you complete 5 of the 6 challenges, a 3 minute penalty will be added to the Official Team Time. If you have a team of 4 and everyone only completes 5 of the 6 challenges, a 12 minute penalty will be added to the Official Team Time.

Official Team Time
*The team must cross the finish line together and the timing is the official base time for the team.
*All members will have to have 8 tags to have no penalties assessed to their time (1x Pre-race weight check tag, 6x challenge tags, 1x Post-race weight check tag).
*The official time for the team will be based upon the official base time and any penalties assessed to the time.
