Event: 5K Run/Walk

Athletes 9 and under can register for $20.

The 5k is the first event of the day and will be a cool start at 7:00 am. Awards at 8:15. Tech shirts, finishers medal and food will be available for all finishers. There will be Individual awards will be (3) deep, male and female, 10-year increments for adults starting with 20-29, High School (defined as 14-19), and 13 and under. Registration will be allowed on race day for the 5k ONLY (not for triathlon). All race (5k course map), packet pick-up, and general information can be found on the race website, http://icantri.org

This event is sanctioned with the USAT, and as such, requires a USAT membership or 1 day license ($15 for adults, $10 for kids). This is a requirement of our sanctioning insurance.

Event: 5k Virtual Run

This Virtual Run was designed for those who want to complete a 5k but will not be available to participate the day of the actual event. A virtual run is a run that you plan around your schedule and at any location. Entry fee includes shipping of shirt and medal to registered address. All items will be mailed the week after the event. No items will be available at packet pickup or day of event. Virtual Run participants are not eligible for race day awards.

Event: USAT CA State Age Group Championships (Adult Olympic Course)

Will be held on an Olympic distance course. No qualification required to compete in the state championships. This race is open to all athletes. The top 25% of each age group will receive qualification to compete at the Age Group Nationals in Ohio.

Special USAT awards will be given to the top (3) overall male and female.

Awards will be (3) deep for each 10-year age group, male and female, beginning with 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 up.

Event: USAT California High School State Championship

500 meter swim, 13 mile bike, 3 mile run.

The State Championship race is open to all athletes who meet the high school requirements.

Eligible athletes are those entering 9th grade through high school graduation of the current calendar year. If the event is after graduation, but before the start of the next school year you are eligible to compete. All students must show their current school identification cards to confirm their grade as of 2019.

USAT HS State Champs competitions will follow the adult competitive rules. As such, aero helmets, bars and race wheels will be allowed in this division.

Special USAT Awards will be given for the top (3) overall male and female.

Event: Adult Olympic Distance Duathlon

Course will follow the Olympic distance triathlon bike and run course, and will exclude the swim. Participants will be sent off for the bike in waves at the start of the adult Olympic swim to allow for space on course.

Awards will be awarded (3) deep for overall male and overall female. No age group awards will be given for the duathlon. USAT reports will still be reported in 5 year increments for points.

Event: Youth Triathlon 6-8

50 meter swim, 2 mile bike, .5 mile run

Awards will be (3) deep for each 1 year age group, male and female 6 ,7 and 8.

Note: We want to encourage all kids to participate, have fun, and grow as triathletes. If you have a kid who is not confident enough to swim yet, please contact the race for ideas for them to safely participate. Use of flotation or skipping the swim will not allow them to compete for awards, but WILL allow them to have a fun and positive experience racing and enjoying our triathlon community.
