Event: Trail Work Series - Event #1 Gridley Trail

Trail Work Series Event #1 will focus on doing needed maintenance on Gridley Trail. Work will include trimming brush, clearing gravel and cobbles off the trail, and trimming overgrown brush.

Our educational component will be led by naturalist and artist, Jeyla Fendi. Jeyla will teach us about why trail work is important to the ecosystem and the health of our public lands. She will also offer the opportunity to learn the basics of nature journaling after the trail work is complete. Join us after the trail work to celebrate our hard work and try out nature journaling. No experience required and all materials will be provided!

Post trail work refreshments will be provided and a light lunch for those participating in the Nature Journaling.

Recommended items for trail work:
- Long sleeves and pants
- Hat
- Sunglasses/Eye protection
- Work gloves (if you have them)
- Helmet (such as a bike helmet or climbing helmet (if you have one)
- Sunscreen
- Water
- Personal snacks (especially if you have food sensitivities)

*Note: This trail work project is approved and permitted under the volunteer service agreement between the USFS and the Get it Done Crew. The USFS may require that we change the location or cancel this event for any reason, especially if weather or hazardous conditions exist. Should a change of plans be necessary we will inform all participants as soon as possible.

Event: Trail Work Series --- Event #2 Pratt Trail

Trail Work Series Event #2 will focus on doing needed maintenance on Pratt Trail. Work will include clearing gravel and cobbles off the trail and trimming overgrown brush.

Our educational component will be led by naturalist Jeyla Fendi, and Bryant Baker, Director of Conservation and Research at Los Padres ForestWatch. They will provide a general overview of the flora and fauna we can find on this trail with a focus on Native vs. Invasive plants, and Bryant's favorite subject matter - shrubs!

Post-trail work refreshments will be provided to all when we return to the cars. A light lunch will be provided for all who join the optional post trail work Nature Journaling.

Event: Trail Work Series - Event #3 Ojai Valley Land Conservancy - Oso Trailhead

Trail Work Series Event #3 will focus on repairing trails in the Oso River Bottom area of the OVLC Ventura River Preserve. Work will include re-establishing trails that were washed away by flooding, repairing tread, and trimming overgrown brush.

Our educational component will be led by RPL Board member Bryant Baker and the Director of Conservation and Research at the Los Padres ForestWatch. "Bryant-the-Shrublander" will give a brief talk before the event about his favorite thing - Shrubs and give us an overview of the area. If you have never been on a nature hike with Bryant you are in for a treat!

Post-trail work refreshments thanks to Trail Butter, Westridge Market, and Topa Topa Brewery will be provided back at the cars. Details to follow!
