Morning Session: Shannon Rowbury's Imagining More Running Camp (9 am - 1 pm daily)

HISTORY OF THE IMAGINING MORE RUNNING CAMP:
We are Olympians, World Championship Medalists, Former National and World Record Holders, and World Class athletes.

We are passionate about imparting the hard-earned wisdom and life experiences that come from being leaders in our sport. Our goal is to help guide and encourage members of our running community to become better versions of themselves so they can become the next generation of leaders empowering others through sport.

We are the proud recipients of a US Department of State Grant that supported our Inaugural “Empowerment Through Sport Camp” (San Francisco, 8/6/2022).

We have been energized through our interactions with the student athletes and coaches that attended our August camp. After reading their post survey comments we realized the profound impact that our message of empowerment can have on our running community.

IMAGINING MORE RUNNING CAMP DATES AND TIMES:
Participants will choose one of the following sessions**:
Morning Session - June 5 - 9, 2023: 9 am - 1 pm
Afternoon Session - June 5 - 9, 2023: 2 pm - 6 pm
** NOTE: To provide more flexibility for our camp participants we will be offering morning and afternoon sessions. Both sessions will follow the same format and material. Each session will kick off with a run.

LOCATION:
San Francisco State University - Cox Stadium
1600 Holloway Avenue
San Francisco, CA US 94132

TARGET CAMP PARTICIPANTS:
High school athletes (12-17 years) and youth coaches

CAMP AGENDA:
Each half-day session will be conducted over five consecutive days and will be comprised of the following activities and education:
- Warm up & Work out
- Recovery Meal
- Education / Strength Training

WE WILL COVER SEVERAL OF THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION TOPICS DURING CAMP:
1. Effective warmup, workout, and recovery skills
2. How to recognize and address physical weaknesses to avoid injuries
3. General Strength Training
4. Race Strategy
5. Fueling for success
6. Sports Psychology: Developing a Success Mindset
7. Running Gear: Finding the Right Shoe for Your Body
8. Coaching Education: How to Craft Workouts
9. Women’s Health
10. Demystifying the College Recruiting Process

REGISTRATION FEE:
*$300 (by 5/14/2023)
*$400 (after 5/14/2023)

T-Shirt & Athlete Training Kit (limit 1 per registrant):
*$10 (by 5/14/2023)
*$20 (after 5/14/2023)

The Registration Fee includes the following:
- Meals: Pre-Workout Snack / Recovery Meal / End of session Snack
- Registration Materials & Handouts

The T-Shirt & Athlete Training Kit includes the following:
- T-Shirt
- Resistance band
- Massage stick
- Tennis ball
- Blender bottle
- Hydration tablets & Protein powder
