Hartford Track Club Boston Marathon Bus

I know many of you are anxious about the Boston Marathon bus, please read through the instructions below, which hopefully should answer many of your questions. If you still have questions, please email Todd at astatsd@cox.net.

Important Disclaimer - We lost a lot of money last year, if we do not have 25 riders by February 27th, we will cancel the bus and refund everyone's money, sorry. We need 33 riders to break even. Tell your friends and the people you run with.

Timing of Bus (A.M.) - The bus will depart from Corbins Corners in West Hartford at 6:00 a.m. and from Burr Corners in Manchester at 6:30 a.m. (there may not be time to get coffee at Dunkin Donuts in Burr Corners this year). We cannot wait for runners who are running late in the morning. Once we get to Hopkinton you will be able to stay on the bus as long as you would like depending on which wave you are starting in.

Timing of Bus (P.M.) - We will be leaving Boston from the Marriott Copley Place, 110 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02116at 5:15 p.m. We have never left a runner behind and don't plan on doing so this year.

Bibs - For those of you who have not run Boston recently, we can no longer pick up your bib number. YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR OWN BIB NUMBER FROM THE MARATHON EXPO. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO BIB = NO RUNNING!

Large Dry Clothes Bags - As most of you know, we can no longer carry large bags from the bus to the hotel on the morning of the race due to increased security. For larger bags, change of clothes can be dropped off at my house the week before race day and I will ferry them up the day before, or you can drop your bags off at our rooms at Marriott Copley Place on Sunday afternoon after I check in at 3 p.m. When packing your larger bag please be considerate of size. There is no longer bag drop off in Hopkinton, so do not plan on bringing a large bag on race day.

Small Race Day Bags - We will provide all runners with a quart size zip lock bag for small personal items (keys, wallet, cell phone) on race day. These bags will be brought up to the room for the runners.

Showers - We have two rooms at the Marriott Copley Place. Hartford Track Club will provide towels to people that forget to pack a towel, shower gel, soap or shampoo and for all runners (no need to pack these items (just bring deodorant and a brush). Showers are first come first serve (there will be a sign in list). When showering please be considerate of your fellow runners who are waiting to shower.
