DC LINKS Bridge to Wellness: 2024 5K Walk for Healthy Living
For the past twenty-eight years, one of the primary goals of the Walk has been to encourage African Americans and other people of African ancestry to get moving because we know that physical activity helps control weight, reduce blood pressure, reduce the risk of diabetes, and improve mental well-being. The annual Walk allows us to reset our mark on reducing the incidence of chronic diseases that plague our communities. But we know that gathering to move together extends beyond the physical- socializing, fellowship and building community are key factors in maintaining health and well-being. Now, more than ever, community matters!
