Cake by the Lake 5K Run and Walks

You may walk any way that you wish, including fitness walking, power walking, and racewalking, as long as you WALK. You may not run at all if you enter the 5K Walk, or you will risk disqualification for repeated or persistent running. If you wish to employ the "run and walk" method, please enter the 5K Run.
We will have locally certified monitors on the course to assist all walking entrants in complying with USATF and USAPWA definitions of walking. That is "heel to toe walking with one foot always in contact with the ground". The Monitors are NOT certified judges in either NSG discipline. They may show a walker a Yellow Paddle as a courtesy to assist in a walker's personal development, but the cardings will not be recorded and there will be NO RED PADLES or RED CARDS in use. Any disqualification from receiving race awards will be the decision of the Lead Monitor or Judge if one is available.
