Event: Diversity in Aquatics Youth Splash and Dash
Distances:
Juniors: age 6 -10 - 100 yard swim; 1 Loop Run
Seniors: age 11 – 16 - 200 yard swim; 2 Loop Run
Swim Detail: The swim will be done in a “snake” fashion with each swimmer swimming one length in each lane (25 yards each lane). There will be lifeguards on duty as well as volunteers to make sure each swimmer completes the course in a safe manner. Swimmers will be starting the course one at a time at 10-second intervals. Swimmers will be allowed to pass another swimmer.
Transition Detail: Athletes will be able to change into their socks, shoes, etc. in the contained sidewalk area outside of the pool entrance. Competitors should feel free to place their belongings in one of the spots provided upon arriving.
Run Detail: The run course will take place around John Mullins Aquatic Center. Participants will follow arrows and cones. Volunteers and an aid station with water will be available on the course.
T-shirts and Medals: All participants will receive a Splash and Dash T-shirts and medal.
USA Triathlon Membership required: $10 license fee good for one year
Packet Pick Up / Race Day Registration: Race Day – 7:00 - 7:45 AM Transition opens at 7:15 AM.
