Friends of the Poor 5k Walk/Run

The Society of St Vincent de Paul is primarily known for our food pantry located on the campus of Holy Family Catholic Church, 5125 S. Apopka Vineland Rd, Orlando. We also provide compassionate spiritual support services such as emergency financial assistance and home visits to those struggling to make ends meet.

St. Vincent de Paul, Holy Family Conference provided the following services in 2018.

• Over 2200 hours of person-to-person service of counseling, guidance, listening and sharing Christ’s love.
• Distributed over 100,000 meals to those we serve, here in Orange County.
• Over $75,000 in financial aid for emergency rent, utilities, medical and auto repairs.
• 100 days of temporary housing.
• Offered food and fellowship through 60 Home Visits, including visits to the elderly and shut ins.
• 2500 pairs of new school shoes, valued at over $35,000, to the neediest children in Orange County.
• Provided furniture, new mattresses and clothing through the SVDP Council Thrift Stores to over 60 families, valued at over $50,000.
• Distributed 300 Thanksgiving dinners.
• Through the Jesse Tree Christmas Toy drive, provided over 125 families with toys. These children would otherwise have had nothing under their tree from Santa.
