The Race Community Impact Service Day

Project Time: Sunday, October 4 from 10AM to 12PM.

Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and leave ALL valuables at home. Do not leave any valuables or suitcases visible in your cars.

Project Description: We will be running our shower bus and laundry bus. This involves pulling sizes of new clothing, managing shower list, managing laundry list, washing and drying clothing, passing out dignity kits, creating dignity (hygiene) kits, and making coffee for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Project Description: Volunteers will begin the day with a tour of our Grocery Store and Garden to learn about the future of community-owned and operated food systems before settling for a light seed sowing session. Afterwards, volunteers will commence garden clearing in preparation for our Fall/Winter crop season.

Project Description: Packing STEM bags for Women in STEM Walkathon participants. This event aims to inspire girls by highlighting the accomplishments of women in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Volunteers would help with sorting items, writing encouraging notes, and packing the bags.

Project Description: We will be preparing the R.I.S.E. Community Garden for the fall & winter growing seasons. This is the oldest community garden in a City of Atlanta park. We teach people how to grow food & live sustainably. The produce grown benefits the community and helps to fund our work. This opportunity includes weeding, planting fall seedlings, making signs, & gardening education.

The garden and entrance are on Fulton St., not Windsor. Please bring gloves, a hat, and a water bottle.

Project Description: Medical supply sorting for items to be delivered to charitable clinics in GA, the US, and globally

Project Description: Volunteers for a Community Baby Shower

We are collecting donations for this event. If you are able, please share a donation item: Diapers, Toys, Books, Car Seats, etc

Project Description: Write hand written cards for survivors, children of survivors, caregivers of survivors, and help pack care packages.

Free parking provided on site. All ages welcome.

If you are able, please bring care package items for survivors and caregivers (journals, pens, natural (chemical free) hygiene items, uplifting reading materials, gift cards).
