Frequently Asked Questions

How will I receive my t-shirt and bib?

t-shirts will be mailed on October 2 to the shipping address provided upon registering. Participants are responsible for printing their own bibs.

Is this 5K exclusively for runners?

Not at all! How you want to complete the 5K distance is totally up to you (run, walk, bike, Zumba, etc.). You can be as creative as you want as long as you get 5,000 steps in!

Will there be any training resources available for participants?

Follow @scaddotedu for training tips and more. In addition, you are welcome to join a SCAD Sprint for Scholarships team or start your own to coordinate training efforts with others. If you’re interested in creating a group, please contact mrosenfe@scad.edu.

Is this an outdoor event only?

No, you can also join in by using indoor equipment (treadmill, elliptical, etc.).

Do I need to start my 5K on Oct. 10?

Yes, but as this is a virtual event so, as long as you start and complete the 5K by 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 10, you can decide what time works best for you!

How can I learn more about endowed scholarships for Black SCAD students?

Endowed scholarships are long-term investments that support students today and into the future. SCAD endowed scholarships for Black students are awarded to current and incoming students in recognition of their creativity, talent, and financial need as they pursue their studies at SCAD and realize their dream careers.

SCAD scholarships are essential resources for many in our community, and you can help strengthen our impact. Join us in ensuring the future of art and design includes more Black voices.

Can I raise funds individually and/or as a group?

Yes! You can create a fundraising page, establish a goal, and share with friends and family to raise support.

What other inclusion initiatives is SCAD currently working on?

To learn more about how SCAD is creating positive change in this pivotal moment, please visit the Office of Inclusion page at scad.edu/inclusion.
