Event: 2023 ELEVATE FESTIVAL GENERAL ADMISSION
The Elevate Festival will take place on Sunday, August 20th 2023 at Laurisden Amphitheater at Waterworks Park.
The one mile or 5k run/walk will start at 9:00 AM, followed by yoga at 10:00 AM and mediation at 10:45 AM. A community picnic and a live show by The June Bugs will follow and close out the event.
The Elevate Festival is owned by Above and Beyond Cancer serving as one of their primary mission-focused fundraising efforts of 2021.
Des Moines based RipRoar Events is proud to be producing the Elevate. RipRoar Events also produces the Des Moines Turkey Trot, Des Moines Women’s Half Marathon, 5K + Team Relay, EMC DAM to DSM, and RipRoar Youth Triathlon Series as well as numerous endurance events around the country.
We do not offer refunds or transfers, but if you’re unable to toe the line you can still pick up your swag during packet pick-up.
What happens if the event is cancelled due to weather, pandemic, etc:
At this time we feel comfortable going forward with the event under current guidelines given the known information involving outdoor in-person events.
What is the minimum age to register?
We ask that participants be 7 years old or older on the event day.
Where is parking on the festival day?
Parking will be available in the hard surface parking lots south of the amphitheater as well as inside the Water Works Park Arboretum.
Will the festival take place rain or shine?
Pack your ponchos! Rain or shine, the event will happen. If there is unsafe weather, we will work with the Des Moines Police Department to monitor the weather and keep you informed. We most definitely want to ensure each athlete gets to experience the Elevate Festival, but we will make sure that the safety of the athletes, volunteers, staff and city officials are the number one priority. All weather updates will be posted via email to all registered athletes and social media.
When and where will packet pick-up be held?
Packet pick-up is held at the park prior to the event starting at 8:30 am.
Can I pick up festival packets for others?
Yes! Bring confirmation of their registration email.
What do I need to bring to the Festival?
Bring your smiles and an open mind and a desire to connect to nature and our incredible ABC community. Bringing a yoga mat is recommended but not required.
What if I have never done yoga before?
Don’t worry about it. We are so excited to have the opportunity to introduce you to it. You can go through it at your own pace. All skills levels will get something out of this experience.
Do I have to participate in all three events?
If there is an event you want to sit out of, no problem. The choice is up to you whether or not you participate in all of them or not!
