Cardinal Newman Day 5K
Come join us to Celebrate St Cardinal Newman Day! His feast day is October 9th, but we are joining together on the 8th to celebrate. We will have a 5K, festival, live music, free food, games, a presentation, Mass and more!
The 5K will start and end at the Newman Center at NIU, 512 Normal Rd. DeKalb IL 60115. The race will start at 4 pm, parking will be available next to Newman until 3:45 pm. Additional Parking can be found on Garden Road next to Barsema Hall after 3:45 pm.
The Festival begins with the first runners to finish the race. Local Businesses and organizations will have booths with free food, samples, games, and items for sale. Local Musicians will be performing from 4:30 to 7. Outdoor Games put on by the Missionary team will be available including bags, ultimate frisbee, basketball, and volleyball. A presentation on Cardinal Newman will begin at 7 pm and lead into 9 pm Mass.
