Event: North American Wife Carrying Championship (Firemans Challenge) Kansas City
The course at Lakeside Speedway is built to international specifications at 253.5 meters in length; with two dry obstacles and one water obstacle.The race format varies slightly from the World Championship in that there is no minimum weight limit for the wife, and the winner is determined by a head-to-head final race rather than being determined only by the finishing time. There may or may not be rounds in this competition. Additionally, the North American course is run on uneven ground with elevation changes, as compared to the World course, which is predominantly flat. Helmets are not required for the North American Championships but we encourage them, lol. Just in case. Everyone is responsible for their own safety.

If you choose to register on this site you must pay your own fees. However, you can opt to send a $60.00 check to us before September 30th and we will register you for ABSOLUTELY FREE ;) This is all for Charity. 100% of Funds is used to feed those in need in our reach. Mulligans are available for the Chug-a-Lug participants...
Should your wife fall off, you already lost. But you can pay a pinch runner to finish the race while you drink in the penalty Box.
