2015 Body First School Fitness Challenge, CC Club Volunteers

Meet at Body First Wellness, 3615 Claflin Road, to stuff race packets that will be delivered to area schools on Monday morning, Sept. 21. Approximately 800 bags will be stuffed. Parents will also be asked to deliver a box of the entries to their school on Monday morning, as needed.

Meet at Body First Wellness, 3615 Claflin Road, to stuff race packets that will be delivered to area schools on Thursday morning, Sept. 21. Approximately 300-400 bags will be stuffed. Parents will also be asked to deliver a box of the entries to their school on Thursday morning, as needed.

You will be stationed at the event's Check In/Registration table to provide information, take race-day registration, and answer questions. All information, materials and even answers will be provided! Manhattan CC Club parents are asked to step forward as managers, essentially receiving training from Pat Melgares prior to race day. We need five families to pickup two water coolers each during practice the week of Sept. 21-25. On race day, please deliver these coolers filled with water and ice to Anneberg Park between 7:30-8 a.m. If you need money to buy ice, please contact Pat Melgares, melgares@LetsGoRun.com.

We give out about 1,200 medals at this event. The medals come packaged in plastic wrapped in a rubber band. This job requires taking all of the medals out of their packaging and laid out, ready for awarding on the day of the event. Simply unpack the medals so that the ribbon is unpacked, and put all medals back into the box. Return the box to Pat Melgares during Club practice on Monday, Sept. 21 or Tuesday, Sept. 22. If you would be willing to collect the medals back from other parents, and be responsible for bringing them to the event on Saturday, Sept. 26, please contact Pat Melgares, melgares@LetsGoRun.com.

The Club's coaches and some parents will work together to organize kids into groups of about 60-70 to run their Fun Run. Kids initially are gathered in a staging area, then led to the finish line in groups of 60-70 when it's time for their age group to run. Communication with the finish line and the public address announcer are critical. 1st of 2 shifts

Club parents are needed to help organize the finish area, including awarding kids medals, handing out water bottles, safely getting kids through the finish area, and reuniting them with their parents. Provide directions to the refreshment area. A very high energy volunteer position! Lots of high-fives and smiles are required... 1st of 2 shifts

You will work with many other parents to help make sure kids get a fair amount of treats and drinks, while saving some for the kids that run later. Well-shaded area. This shift will be asked to set up the refreshment area beginning at 8 a.m.
