Bourbon City Mile

This Elite one mile race will be open to those who can hit our qualifying times of a 5:30 minute mile for Men and 6:00 minute mile for Women. The top male and female finishers of this mile will receive $300 CASH for their victory as well as prizes from our sponsors and be crowned the Bourbon City Mile Champion! (Collegiate and High school athletes can run but will be ineligible for the prize money based on NCAA/KHSAA restrictions). If the winner goes under 4:00 (male) or 4:30 (female), our sponsors will provide BONUS MONEY! So lace up your shoes and bring it on!

The Buzicks have been an integral part of the Bourbon Boom in Bardstown. Their family has built the warehouses that age the bourbon since their first build for Fairfield Distillery in 1941. In honor of their family, they will host our Family Mile. This race is perfect for kids or first time milers! This race will not be timed and welcome to all. (With registered adult, kids under 8 will be free with t-shirt sold separately)

KORT Physical Therapy has been a staple in the Bardstown community for nearly 30 years. They offer a wide range of services with more board certified therapists than any other company in the state. They provide sports medicine coverage for ALL of the area schools and were a perfect fit for sponsoring the Youth Mile. While monetary gifts are not allowed for runners per NCAA eligibility rules, some other prizes are available for the top three male and female runners (middle and high school).

The Loftin Memorial Master's Mile is named by Bardstown Bourbon Company in honor of their late founder Peter Loftin. Peter and the BBC crew have revolutionized the bourbon industry in Bardstown by offering an all in one experience on their campus with a restaurant, distillery, and tasting bar on site. They are hosting the 2020 event and we are excited that they are honoring the man that got it all started! Top three male and female runners will win some great Bardstown Bourbon Company swag! Just like our bourbon, our runners get better with age! This race is for our runners in the grandmaster division of 50 and over. Barton 1792 Distillery is a staple in our community and is patient with its aging of bourbon. Their founder is also the reason we have the Oscar Getz Whiskey Museum! This is a competitive mile. Lux Row is one of Bardstown’s newest distilleries. They have been an established company called Luxco for many years but knew if they were going to create their own bourbon, they had to be in the Bourbon Capital of the World! They have built a beautiful visitor’s center and lead fantastic tours. This race is open to all competitors looking to challenge themselves to run their fastest mile.
