Polar Bear Grand Prix

For the 15th year, River City Races has been producing a series of races this winter to keep you motivated to stay out runnin’ on the roads! The Polar Bear Grand Prix is three races in December, January and February. Enter all three here and the first 500 registrants receive a special, 15 year commemorative pair of running gloves!

To celebrate our 15th year, each race in the series is upping it's game on the race premium.  The Reindeer Romp will feature a long sleeve, gender specific, technical fabric running shirt, the Frostbite 5k will feature a long sleeve technical 1/4 zip running shirt and the Snowman Shuffle will feature a winter running hat.

The Polar Bear Grand Prix is also scored on a points format based on finishes in each race with awards for the top three men and women overall, overall Male and Female Master and Grandmaster and awards in age groups, 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54,55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.

Reindeer Romp 4k: Saturday, December 8th, 9:00 a.m. at Hogan’s Fountain in Cherokee Park. The first 500 entrants will be guaranteed a Reindeer Romp long sleeve, gender specific, technical shirt. Those who register after the first 500 will receive a shirt on a first come, first serve basis.

Pre-race packet pickup and late registration is Friday, December 7th at Fleet Feet, 117 Breckenridge Ln. (St. Matthews Station) from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Race day packet pickup and late registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at Hogan's Fountain Pavilion in Cherokee Park.

Frostbite 5k: Saturday, January 12th, 9:00 a.m. at the Rugby Field in Cherokee Park. The first 500 entrants will be guaranteed a long sleeve 1/4 zip technical shirt so get your entry in early!  Those who register after the first 500 will receive a shirt on a first come, first serve basis.

Snowman Shuffle 4 Mile: Saturday, February 9th at 9:00 a.m. at Hogan’s Fountain in Cherokee Park.  The first 500 to register will get a winter running hat. Those who register after the first 500 will receive a hat on a first come, first serve basis.

Four kilometer (2.4 miles) run and walk around the beautiful Scenic Loop in Cherokee Park. Course is USATF certified and sanctioned. Great way to kick off the 2019 running/walking season just a little early.

Second race of the Polar Bear Grand Prix, the Frostbite 5k is by far the most popular race of the series and the best value on the running calendar with a long sleeve, ¼ zip technical race shirt with your entry fee. Enter just the Frostbite 5k or make the full commitment to participate in all three races of the Grand Prix.

Only the first 500 entrants will be guaranteed a long sleeve technical shirt so get your entry in early. Those who register after the first 500 will receive a shirt on a first come., first serve basis.

RACE DAY - Late registration and packet pickup starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 8:45 a.m. sharp at the Rugby Field on the Scenic Loop in Cherokee Park.

Four mile run and walk through scenic Cherokee Park, starts at Hogan's Fountain and winds its way along Beargrass Creek to Big Rock Park and back around the Scenic Loop. Enter just the Snowman Shuffle or make the full commitment to participate in all three races.
