5K RUCKERS
The event will take place on Veteran's Day, Monday, November 11, 2023. The starting location will be located on the north end of Bord du Lac on the north side of the Civic Center in downtown Lake Charles.
We encourage ANYONE, and EVERYONE, to come out and help us honor all of those who have served this great nation!
Packet Pickup and Day of Registration will begin at 7:30 AM.
We will not be weighing packs; however, here are a few suggestions to consider.
RUCK MARCH SUGGESTIONS:
We highly encourage your ruck or pack to have an Internal or External Frame.
If the individual weighs more than 150 lbs., he/she will carry 20 pounds including pack weight.
If the individual weighs less than 150 lbs., he/she will carry 10 pounds including pack weight.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE CANNED GOODS FOR WEIGHT, BUT IF YOU DO, HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS.
Participants are encouraged to use non-perishable goods for the weight (Canned Goods, Rice, etc). Food Items will be collected at the finish line and will be donated to a local Food Pantry.
Please DO NOT use expired food items.
Please keep labels on food items in their original state. Duct-taping goods together is allowed. (Place cans in a bag and then tape to keep from ripping off labels)
Participants CAN NOT use rocks or logs that can be picked up along the course.
ALL proceeds for this event will go to a nonprofit that helps veterans and their families.
