Pass several beautiful bodies of water on the Cape Split peninsula on this part-hardtop and part-dirt road route. This race begins at the Cape Split Schoolhouse. Head north past the Cape Split horse and goat farm, then past Marsh Harbor on the west. Go left on Marsh Harbor Road. Continue on Marsh Harbor Road to the end, then turn left into a neighbor's drive to view Merritt Cove and Marsh Harbor Island. Do a U-turn and return to pass by the Schoolhouse heading south on Cape Split Road. Run across the bar (causeway) with views of Eastern Harbor on the east and Pleasant Bay on the west. Continue on Cape Split Road past Comey Cove on the east. Then do a loop around wooded Cape Head, back across the bar again, and then north to the Schoolhouse for the finish.
