Tracking the Mud Monster:
Complete the challenges below or Choose your own adventures to collect your muddy minutes and earn clues to unravel the mysteries of the Mud Monster.

Challenge 1: What does the Mud Monster look like? Log at least 1 muddy minute to get your first glimpse of the Mud Monster. You can go for a hike in the woods, take a trail run, dig in the dirt, plant a flower or vegetable, mix dirt and water in a bowl to a nice muddy consistency, stand barefoot on the soil or anything you choose to connect with the earth. Enter your muddy minutes, choose challenge 1 under activity and add what you did in the comment section.

Challenge 2: How does the Mud Monster move? Does she glide, hop, fly, hike in the woods. Take a hike in the woods and enter your muddy minutes to find out.

Challenge 3: What does the Mud Monster like to eat? Visit a local farm, farmers market, produce stand, or work in your garden. Enter your muddy minutes in the log with your guess in the comment section.

Challenge 4: How does the Mud Monster relax? Read a mud themed books somewhere outside

Challenge 5: What are the Mud Monsters favorite hobbies? Try out some of the activities below. When you track your minutes enter your activity.

Mud Day Play Passport:
-Go for a Trail Run
-Take a Nature Hike
-Dig or work in your Garden
-Play in the mud: Create your own mud pit in the yard or in a small bin.
-Mud Face Painting: Mix your own mud face paint and have fun decorating your face
-Mud Painting: Create your own work of art my mixing mud and paint away
-Mud Target practice: set up a few targets and squish some mud into a ball and toss away
-Build with Mud or Clay: Make a fairy house, sculpt with clay, or open up your own mud pie kitchen.
-Mud in your community: Go for a scavenger hunt looking for the importance of mud or soil. Visit a farmers market and find a root vegetable. Visit an art museum or gallery to find something made of clay. Learn about animals that live under ground.
-Join a community event to garden or volunteer in a nature area.
-Take a selfie of your muddy play and add it to our photo page!

Challenge: Mud Day Mayhem In person Event Only!

Join us for a day of Muddy Mayhem at Leslie Science & Nature Center.
1831 Traver Road, Ann Arbor, MI

Saturday, June 24, 2023 10am-12pm.

Collect more muddy minutes with hands-on activities and a Mud Monster Quest along the nature trails in Black Pond Woods.

Challenge: Outdoor Yoga

Join us in the backyard of Green Apple Garden Lower School for morning outdoor yoga with Carter the owner and teacher from Yoga with Carter. This event is for adults at any yoga experience level.
