Odetoberfest

Start with the Odetoberfest mile, then der Brezzellauf, and finish with the Luftschloss. Technically, you can powerwalk them all and be in time for each start - the faster you run, the more you rest!

Run the Torschlusspanik - it's a time squeeze. If you make all 15 miles, you can rest up for a few minutes before the Schnapsidee Bavarian Mile (but hey, that's like dessert anyway).

An out and back, flat mile. You'll be fast on this wide path; just don't crash on your u-turn! You've got 15 minutes to complete this if you're also running der Brezellauf. Easy for you since you're speedy, and you'll work up an appetite!

Literally, this translates to the pretzel run. Run in a pretzel, and have a pretzel. 4.66 miles of flat paved trail and cinder path. It's a beautiful route. You've got 65 minutes to complete this and rest up before the Luftschloss if you're doing all the races. Just enough time to put on fresh lederhosen!

Luftschloss is translated as the "air castle" or the "unattainable castle you build in your mind". We've consulted with Escher to design this course, especially for Miko. If you know, you know. The western trails through the hills in Independence Oaks are wide flat double-track gravel through some of the most beautiful woodlands in SE Michigan. You'll thank us when you're done. Guaranteed. (if the old RD can powerwalk it in under 75 minutes, you'll be fine)

Is this one race or six races? You have 35 minutes to complete your first loop before the bell rings for loop 2? What will you do with all that extra time? Don't worry, you get less time to be ready for every loop start, 3 minutes less to be exact. Just make the bell and you'll keep going. Don't worry; if you decide to stop, the ridicule will be kept to the legal minimum.

Run in the traditional beer mile format. Bring four of your own 12oz fizzy beverages of choice - non-alcoholic is permitted. Chug one, run the 1/4 mile loop. Repeat 4x. It's easy (till it's not).

2, 3 or 4 people can be a relay team. Each person must run at least one race/segment. You pick the order. Exchange your bib during the breaks or on the fly during the pretzel eating segment of der Brezellauf.

All relay members get to run the Schapsidee Beer Mile individually if they'd like.
