2019 Reindeer Trail Run / Walk 5k-10k-15k

Trail run / walk exploring Manchester's Leonard Preserve. Participants will start at 11:00 a.m. near Wurster Park in Manchester’s quaint historical downtown near the Christmas In The Village festivities. The route begins as a dirt road along the River Raisin to the Preserve entrance. Participants will explore the mix of grassy and rugged trails in Leonard Preserve while enjoying views of River Raisin and the diverse landscape.  The 5k will consist of one loop before heading back into town to the finish line where hot cocoa awaits. The 10k and 15k will follow multiple loops with more opportunities to see the birds, deer, and tracks of other small creatures along the trails through rolling hills, forests, and prairies.This race will allow plenty of time for those interested in walking and taking in the scenery in the 5k or 10k. Participants in the 15k should be able to maintain under a 16:00 min pace on trails. Due to the rugged terrain of parts of the route and seasonal conditions, strollers are not recommended. Due to the rare nesting birds in the nature preserve, this race is not pet friendly. Runners should use care to watch for roots, rocks, and uneven ground while taking in the beauty of Leonard Preserve.Student and Military Discounts are available at the RunSignup checkout.Packet pickup and check-in will be race morning from 9:00-10:30 a.m at Wurster Park near the start line.Reindeer medal and long sleeve tech shirt guaranteed to all registered by 11/25.Top finishers for each race receive an exclusive scarf.
