Dead Carp 20K Run, 5K Run/Walk and Little Carp 1 Mile Presented by Dead River Coffee

The Dead Carp 20K Run offers a beautiful course with springtime temperatures ideal for running, and combines small-race feel with big-race perks. The course will pass over both the Dead and Carp Rivers, giving you the full scenic experience of Marquette's lakeshore. The 20K run will begin on the bike path in front of Drifa Brewing company and will run South on the bike path until participants hit their turnaround point. They will then run North on the Bike Path all the way to pass over the Dead River, the turnaround point will be right around the entrance to Presque Isle Park. Runner's will then make their way back south on the bike path and will finish at the initial starting point in front of Drifa Brewing Company.

Aid stations will be provided on this course. Skratch hydration mix and chews will be available!

The Dead Carp 5K will begin and end on the bike path in front of Drifa Brewing Company. The race will head NORTH on the bike path, towards beautiful downtown Marquette. It will turnaround at the 1.55 mile mark and head back south.

For our little fish! The Little Carp 1 Mile, will start on the bike path in front of Drifa Brewing Co., and run south towards the carp river. This race will be a .5 mile out and back, totaling for a 1 mile race. Children 1-12years old are welcome to participant. Parents are welcome to run alongside their child FREE of cost.

It's time to King and Queen Up by competing in the Run the UP Challenge! The UP has some of the most scenic, beautiful, and fun courses in the Midwest. Summer temperatures are typically mild, and the hometown feel and vibe of our events are unparalleled! Are you ready to challenge yourself to see if you're our first ever King or Queen of the UP?
What's Involved?
- Runners will register to participate in the Run the UP Challenge by paying a one time fee of $5.00 to enter.
- Runners must participate in at least four of the seven races listed to receive a Run the UP Challenge medal.
- At the completion of the 2024 race season, a Queen and King of the UP will be crowned at the Run Iron Mountain Half Marathon. Prizes to top 3 Men and Women.
- An age-graded point system will be utilized to determine results for males and females.
- 20 bonus points for UP Championship Races **
- Runners who participate in more than four races will have their results calculated based on their best four races.
- Live standings will be posted and shared on participating races websites.
