The competitive youth dual slalom is for youth aged 8-16. We also have a non-competitive dual slalom race for the kids that want to try the course out for fun, and not get timed.
The Youth Dual Slalom event brings head-to-head individual elimination racing to the Marquette Trails Festival.
Races will take an initial timed run down the dual slalom course. Their time will be used to 'seed' them into a position on a bracket (think NCAA tournament)
They will match up against their opponent over 2 head to head runs, one on each lane of the course with the winner (based on the fastest combined time of the 2 runs) advancing to the next round.
NOTES:
E BIKES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE RACED, WE KEEP IT OLD SCHOOL
Youth Participants will receive a commemorative Marquette Trails Festival hat (one hat per participant even if competing in multiple festival events).
