EVENT TYPE

This is a multi-day, multi-country marathon tour package. Participants register for the full challenge; individual marathons are not sold separately. The entire group stays, travels and runs together as a single cohort.

REGISTRATION FEE: $300

Your registration covers:

· Entry to all three marathons (The Joliba Marathon, The Bangr-Weoogo Marathon, The Boubou Hama Marathon)
· Official finisher medals for each country
· Race timing and on-course hydration support


Not included (participants arrange independently):

· International flights to Bamako and from Niamey
· Visas for Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger
· Meals beyond Breakfasts
· Travel insurance (mandatory)
· Personal expenses, souvenirs, tips

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel insurance is mandatory for all participants. Your policy must include:

· Medical coverage, including emergency evacuation
· Trip cancellation and interruption coverage
· Coverage for adventure/marathon participation

Proof of insurance must be submitted no later than 1 October 2026. Instructions for submission will be emailed after registration.

VISAS

Participants are responsible for obtaining visas for Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger prior to travel.

After registration, you will receive a detailed visa guide including:

· Links to official e-visa portals where available
· Embassy contact information for your country of residence
· Required documents and invitation letter support
· Recommended processing timelines

Start your visa applications early. We recommend beginning no later than August 2026.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Vaccinations:

· Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for entry into all three countries. Carry your International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow card) at all times.
· Consult a travel health clinic regarding: typhoid, hepatitis A and B, meningitis, tetanus, and malaria prophylaxis.


Safety and Security:
This challenge is designed as a fully escorted group tour. The group moves together throughout the itinerary. You will be accompanied by trusted local guides in each country. All race courses are on enclosed, traffic-free routes. Your safety and peace of mind are our highest priority.

ACCOMMODATION

Eight (8) nights’ accommodation is included as part of the FogAdventures package. Hotel details will be shared exclusively with confirmed and fully registered participants

PACE & CUT-OFF TIMES

This challenge is designed for completion, not competition. Runners of all paces are welcome. There is no strict cut-off time; however, participants must be capable of completing a marathon within a reasonable timeframe to keep the group schedule intact.

An 8-hour finish window is anticipated. If you require more time, contact us prior to registering so we can discuss whether the itinerary can accommodate your needs.

WEATHER & CONDITIONS

Late October to early November marks the start of the dry season in the Sahel. Expect:

· Daytime temperatures: 30–35°C (86–95°F)
· Low humidity
· Dry, dusty conditions
· Races will start early morning to avoid peak heat

Hydration will be provided on course, but participants should train for hot-weather running.

PACKING GUIDE

A comprehensive packing list will be provided after registration. Key items include:

· Hydration pack or belt
· Electrolytes and familiar race nutrition (limited availability locally)
· Lightweight, breathable running apparel
· Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, high-SPF sunscreen)
· Yellow fever certificate
· Copies of passports, visas, and insurance documents

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

· Cancellations before 1 September 2026: 50% refund of Tour Package Fees
· Cancellations on or after 1 September 2026: No refund
· The event will proceed rain or shine. In the unlikely event of a security situation requiring cancellation, participants will be notified immediately and partial refunds (excluding irrecoverable costs) will be issued.
