Asheville Marathon and Half at Biltmore Estate

We recognize that in early spring, at the start of the racing season, you may not want to engage in a full marathon, or maybe you do but would like to bring a friend that just isn’t up to the whole distance! That’s why we’re bringing back the HALF, Asheville Marathon at Biltmore Estates’ answer to creating an entire destination experience for you, your friends and your family. If you want to experience the typical ‘off-limit’s’, primitive west side of the estate, you’ll have to train and sign up for the full marathon! The west side will remain exclusive for our full marathoners only.

Friends and Family can run the Civilized Side together.

For the first 10 miles, full & half marathoners’ run the same course. Enjoying all the European Gardens, the exquisite views of the Biltmore House, and the manicured grounds. When the full marathoners break for the primitive west side, half marathoners will complete their last three miles along the beautiful, rustic banks of the French Broad River.

A 26.2 mile racing event, unlike any other, taking place in Asheville, North Carolina at America’s largest backyard on Biltmore Estate. Asheville Marathoners will wind through hardwood forest, meadows, crackling gardens, and breath-taking views of the Biltmore Estate. Marathon runners will traverse over paved, dirt, and gravel trail roads including running in front of The Biltmore House, by the lagoon and through vineyards on the primitive west side of the estate.

The Backyard to Vineyard Challenge allows participants to run the half marathon on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday. The special privilege to run on Biltmore Estate is like none-other, and by opening this challenge up to runners, we are inviting them to experience running 39.3 miles all on the estate property on the same weekend! Participants that complete the challenge will receive one-of-a-kind swag for our finishers. Limited entries available. We expect these spots to fill up well in advance of race day.

The Backyard to Backyard Challenge presents the challenge of running two half marathons in one weekend. The special privilege to run on Biltmore Estate is like none-other, and by opening this challenge up to runners, we are inviting them to experience running 26.2 miles all on the estate property on the same weekend! Participants that complete the challenge will receive one-of-a-kind swag for our finishers. Limited entries available. We expect these spots to fill up well in advance of race day.
